invincible

Last year on my birthday I decided it was time to take control of my life, and my weight. I didn't want to spend my 30's as fat and miserable as I spent my 20's. Now, I've made this decision to change 100x before, and this birthday goal was no different. But in January (7 months later) I finally did it. I joined a gym and a couple weeks later I joined weight watchers. The weight is coming off slowly, but it is coming off. I may not be at my goal I set for my 30th birthday, but I'm already 17lbs down and still so so motivated.

Things I'm doing:
  • going to the gym 5 mornings a week, doing at least an hour of cardio
  • tracking every bite of food
  • cut my coca-cola addiction
  • instituted meatless Mondays at home
  • walking 3.5mph on the hill mode set at a 9 incline
  • drinking lots of water

Things I'd like to start:
  • running or the elliptical. I really would love to get those calories burned faster.
  • boot camp at the gym
  • cutting back meat to 1-2x a week maybe even go completely vegetarian...
  • getting in more veggies during snacks
  • cut back eating out to 1x a week. Not 1 lunch and a couple dinners.
Next mini goal: 25lbs gone

Big goal: 100lbs total

I feel amazing and have no intention of stopping. I want to be a fun active mom to these awesome boys of mine, and I can't do that being stuck where I was. I have dreams of being out there running with them and setting an example to them. It's time for me to take care of me, so I can better care for them.

Wow! Congratulations! You should post pictures of your progress. You may just motivate me to get off the couch and on the treadmill.

Alicia that is awesome! you and Mason motivated me & I am down 25lbs, finally hit 169 today, my goal is 145 (dont know how likely that is!) I started at 194 back in October when Mason told me what you guys were doing. I have been running and lifting weights 4-5 times a week, counting cals and cut out the soda, well, for 4 months but have to admit the 5 kids has pulled me back to an occasional pepsi! Keep it up!

Good for you Morgan!! I still have to have a little caffeine every day, but I found a multi-vitamin with it in it. So I am down to just water the rest of the day and it helps remind me to take my vitamin! I found an AWESOME website for recipes. They taste fantastic and are low in calories. A lot of them take a bit longer to prepare, but it's all fresh/homemade. You should look into it. It always helps me to get new recipes to stay on track. skinnytaste.com

Melinda do it! :)
